What is a dry eye assessment?

Our dry eye assessment involves specialized testing to assess the type of dry eye you have and to what degree. This exam includes a gauging of how many tears are being produced, the tear salt concentration, inflammation evaluation and Meibomian gland function appraisal.

Eyewear styling helps you find specs that not only suit your lifestyle and vision needs but are catered to your taste and what best suits your features! Starting with an eyewear style assessment and discussion of your prescription, our trained staff members will select frames that will provide not just function but fashion.

Level up your eyewear fashion and feel more confident!

An eye examination is more than a vision test; it offers a view of the whole eye and can identify any potential problems. Even if you do not wear glasses, comprehensive eye exams should remain a routine part of your health checkups as early detection is the key to continued eye health.

Valid provincial healthcare covers eye health issues like eye disease monitoring, eye emergencies like retinal detachments, and some necessary exam types like dilated fundus exams. If you’re not sure what’s covered, please contact us.

Dilation enlarges your pupil and prevents it from shrinking when the doctor shines light at your eye. This allows the doctor to get a better view of your retina which can alert her to a number of concerns. Early detection is crucial to preventing conditions that can lead to vision loss. Dilation typically wears off within a couple hours and is not harmful to the eye.

Purchasing eyewear from your Optometrist guarantees precise measurements such as pupil distance and optical centers resulting in the most accurate vision possible as opposed to online ordering that relies on self taken measurements or averages. Lenses from your optometrist are customized for each individual’s unique lifestyle and created using the latest leading technology and materials.

If your concern is a life threatening injury or time sensitive, the emergency room is the best place to go. However, if you have a milder worry such as rescheduling an appointment or challenges with your eyewear you can contact us by email at [email protected], call 780-830-5330 and leave a voicemail or text 587-803-1924.

Our comprehensive adult eye exams consist of a full eye health examination including intraocular optical pressure measurement, OCT scanning and Optomap retinal imaging as well as prescription check.

These include a full eye health check with intraocular optical pressure measurements, OCT scanning and Optomap retinal imaging as well as a prescription check. There is a diagnostic fee of $25 that is not covered by healthcare.
